Pomeranz promotes Dianetics at MIBF (Manila International Book Fair)

MANILA, Philippines - David Pomeranz returns to the Philippines for the 32nd Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), ongoing until Sept. 18 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.

On Sept. 18 at 3 to 5 p.m., Pomeranz is set to perform his hits and promote L. Ron Hubbard’s Dianetics, the landmark work that launched the worldwide movement for The Church of Scientology, of which Pomeranz is a member.

Pomeranz believes that the real barriers to a happy and valuable future are the upsets, failures, fears and mistakes of the past.

“These things hang around us like ghosts spoiling every chance to create a new and better life.” he says. “I had my own personal fears and internal barriers that blocked my way and threatened to destroy my chances to achieve my goals.”

Knowing and using Dianetics can help you break free of those barriers, Pomeranz notes, as Dianetics discusses the different dynamics or areas of life that are essential for real success.

Dianetics enabled me to shake off the shadows of the past and see the life the way it really is. It gave me the power to deal with life in a positive and constructive way,” Pomeranz asserts. “I have a great career doing exactly what I want to do, a wonderful wife and family, and, I am proud to say, many friends that I’ve been able to help to lead happy and fulfilling lives.”

Dianetics is published by Bridge Publications and will be available at the MIBF.

Kirstie Alley Hits the Catwalk for Malaysian Designer Zang Toi

    Sep 14 2011 12:00 PM ET
Attendees at Zang Toi’s runway show at New York Fashion Week Tuesday were treated to a special treat: an appearance by Kirstie Alley. The actress took a turn on the catwalk at Lincoln Center, sporting an embellished blue coat dress and an exaggerated beehive hairdo.

Tweeting Monday that she was “scared,” Alley jokingly asked fans and fashionistas to avoid eye contact during the show. “DONT make me laugh,” she wrote. “Gotta keep ‘model face’ … oh, who I am kidding??”

And though she was worried about falling on her “well dressed ass,” Alley took to the runway effortlessly, and at the end of the day, was grateful for the experience.

“Thank you all the REAL models for letting me share @ZANGTOI runway with you,” she Tweeted. “You all were sooo sweet and looked soooo gorgeous!!! I had the time of my life!!!!”

Cherie Ceberano

A Scientologist for more than 50 years, Cherie Ceberano is vibrant, indomitable and going strong.

Cherie Ceberano is the center of a virtual world of help.

A Scientologist since age 14, Cherie learned about Scientology when her parents became involved in the religion in 1959 and she and her sister Kay enrolled on a course at theChurch of Scientology of Melbourne.

“In a matter of days I absolutely knew I was home,” says Cherie. “I experienced a spiritual epiphany. It is hard to explain exactly what it meant to me, but I gained a certainty of myself that I have never lost.”

The matriarch of a tight-knit, successful family, Cherie relied on Scientology to ensure her children had the tools they needed to succeed in their own endeavors.

“From the time my children were small, the overriding principle we operated on was—if you have a situation, communicate about it—no matter what it is. That is the principle that always wins for us,” she says.

And Cherie certainly knows how to get a family winning. All four children and nine grandchildren are succeeding in life, her eldest son Bey produces and directs movies in Hong Kong, her second son Paul is a Karate Master, her third son Phil a successful guitarist and her daughter is Australian singing and songwriting legend Kate Ceberano.

When Kate was 15 and determined to perform in venues she wasn’t old enough to enter, Cherie drove her to her gigs—never a pushy stage mother but always encouraging. The family continues to provide a support network for Kate’s career. Kate’s stepfather Ben Balfour is her tour manager, Kate’s brother Phil is her band leader and creative partner, and Ruthie Ceberano, the wife of Kate’s brother Paul, is her personal assistant.>>

One Funny Man!

Chick -- Just the Best. Period.

Great photo of Chick Corea. This man is such an icon. He churns out brilliant music. Last summer I got to hear a concert with Chick, Stanley Clarke (OMG) and Chaka Khan (double OMG--I had NO IDEA she's a jazz singer. Just knew she was the ultimate in R&B). It was a set to remember for a lifetime. Just wish they'd recorded it. And what did they play (among other numbers)? You guessed it -- My Spanish Heart. That has to be the highlight of a lifetime of incredibles.

The event was the anniversary of the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International in LA.

David Miscavige is the ecclesiastical leader of the Scientology religion. From his position as Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center (RTC), Mr. Miscavige bears the ultimate responsibility for ensuring the standard and pure application of L. Ron Hubbard’s technologies of Dianetics and Scientology and for Keeping Scientology Working.

In that capacity, Mr. Miscavige has redefined the term “religious leader” to fit the tasks necessary to direct a truly unique, contemporary religion—a religion born in the twentieth century, which has achieved an unprecedented level of expansion in the twenty-first century, including some 8,500 Churches, Missions and affiliated groups across 165 nations.

Under Mr. Miscavige’s stewardship, Scientology-supported social betterment and humanitarian programs have touched the lives of billions. Mr. Hubbard’s religious works are more widely available than ever and the Church has achieved unprecedented growth both in physical size and in the reach of its ministry.

Such is the stamp of Mr. David Miscavige in fulfilling the vision and legacy of L. Ron Hubbard and such is the encapsulated story of his leadership:

    • Guaranteeing the continued growth and expansion of Scientology internationally
    • Making Scientology broadly available to people of all walks of life world over
    • Developing programs to address society’s worst ills and providing the resources to put those programs into action

    • Presiding over nine annual globally broadcast events that serve as briefings for Scientologists on the Church's strategic programs.

    L. RON HUBBARD'S TRUSTED FRIEND

Born in 1960, David Miscavige has been a Scientologist for most of his life and is still remembered as the 12-year-old prodigy who served as the youngest professional auditor at Saint Hill’s famed Hubbard Guidance Center in England.

He is further remembered for the fact that barely a year after entering the Scientology religious order, the Sea Organization, at the age of 16, he was among a handful of people selected to work directly with L. Ron Hubbard. After personal instruction from Mr. Hubbard, the 17-year-old David Miscavige served as his Director of Photography for the first Scientology training films.

Later, at Mr. Hubbard’s request, Mr. Miscavige served as the senior executive supervising ecclesiastical missions to Scientology Churches around the world. By the age of 18, David Miscavige had become the individual L. Ron Hubbard called upon to carry out the most important assignments. No Church executive in history ever received more direct communication from L. Ron Hubbard than Mr. Miscavige.

In 1983, L. Ron Hubbard described a heroic Church executive who cleaned the ranks of rogue staff attempting to seize control of Scientology while Mr. Hubbard was engaged in intensive research and absent from the Church. As Mr. Hubbard himself phrased it:

“So forgive me for not managing the Church when it almost fell into hostile hands. It all came out all right. Why? Because real Scientologists made sure it did. My faith was justified.”

That real Scientologist L. Ron Hubbard spoke of was David Miscavige.

In light of what had nearly transpired, L. Ron Hubbard requested a corporate reorganization of the Church designed to ensure the Church would not fall into hostile hands and the religion could move on into perpetuity—always remaining true to its Source teachings. To that end, L. Ron Hubbard saw to the formation of Religious Technology Center to hold the Scientology and Dianetics trademarks and to preserve, maintain and protect the Scientology religion. He appointed Mr. Miscavige a Trustee of that Church organization.

To oversee his personal affairs for the remainder of his life, L. Ron Hubbard also appointed David Miscavige as chairman of the organization charged with handling those matters.

Following L. Ron Hubbard’s passing in 1986, it was Mr. Miscavige who steered Scientology through those difficult days; for as history demonstrates, the true test of any religion is to survive the passing of its Founder. Indeed, it was Mr. Miscavige who secured that survival by obtaining full religious recognition in the United States and ushering Scientology onto the global stage.

Since then, Mr. Miscavige has steadfastly carried forth L. Ron Hubbard’s legacy, until Scientology now stands as the only major religion to emerge in this modern age. To be sure, what Mr. Miscavige has done is no more or less than the fulfillment of L. Ron Hubbard’s vision—a vision he knew would be faithfully carried out with Mr. Miscavige at the helm.

“Trust and friendship are things forged in fire and pounded out on the anvil of life. We have been through a lot together. I trust you as you trust me.”

—L. Ron Hubbard to David Miscavige
